"At Maxi Nails, we create detailed, handcrafted nails that bring the beauty of the world to your hands. Our creations blend durability with intricate artistry, providing high-quality, reusable nail art that empowers your self-expression—all while being wonderfully affordable for the level of complexity we offer."

Maxi Nails was born out of a deep love for creativity, nature, and a passion for making art accessible to everyone. My journey into the world of nails began when I was 17, driven by a belief that our bodies are our temples, and there’s no better way to express who we are than by decorating them in ways that make our souls feel happy and loved. We only live this life once, so why not break the norms and embrace what truly brings us joy?

For me, that joy came through vibrant, maximalist designs—florals, beach-inspired motifs, and anything that celebrated the beauty of the world around us. But my love for nails and these bold designs was also deeply personal. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I used to tear my nails apart, leaving them short and torn. I was really insecure about how my nails looked, which made me hide my hands—hesitant to use hand gestures or fully express myself. This insecurity sparked my obsession with nails.

However, as a student on a budget, spending $200+ on detailed designs or sitting in a salon for 5+ hours just wasn’t an option. So instead, I taught myself and started doing my own nails. But balancing my passion with the demands of daily life wasn’t easy. I had multiple projects to juggle, and without the luxury of spending hours on intricate nail art, I often settled for plain designs, even though my soul yearned for something more. Eventually, after getting contact dermatitis and realising the harmful effects of UV light and gel, I knew it was time for a change.

For someone who valued self-care and spirituality, I had to ask myself if it was really “self-care” if I knew the spiritual and physical side effects yet continued getting them. That’s when I turned to press-on nails, but even they had their challenges. The glue left behind residue on the press ons, making reusability a hassle, and nail stickers barely lasted a day. I needed nails that could withstand life—hair washes, gym sessions, house chores—while being reusable and affordable, with minimal damage to my natural nails.

Having lived in both Myanmar and Singapore, with my business based in Singapore, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges that come with a struggling economy, especially in Myanmar. Given the current situation, businesses are closing and jobs are disappearing, with people having to prioritise necessities over beauty. It taught me that beauty truly is a privilege, but not in the way you may think.

I saw an opportunity to create something positive—not just for myself, but for others. My mission became clear: to create unique nails that are detailed, durable, and value for money, all while supporting the community in Myanmar. And so, Maxi Nails was born.

Maxi Nails is more than just a brand; it’s really a story of empowermentcommunity, and resilience. I teamed up with two other talented nail artists with small businesses who shared my passion. Together, we create stunning, detailed, high-quality nails that would typically cost over $100, but are offered at half the price.

We did extensive research to ensure that the nail stickers we provide cause minimal damage while lasting over three weeks with proper application.

When you support Maxi Nails, you’re not only getting beautiful nails but also helping provide jobs and stable income for artists during tough times.

We’d love for you to join us on this journey. Together, we can make beauty accessible, support more artists as we grow, and bring a little bit of joy and creativity into the world—one nail at a time.
